CROSSCUT grew out of Northern Greenville County, South Carolina, where hunting, land, and outdoor work are part of everyday life. Around Travelers Rest and the surrounding foothills, equipment gets used, carried, dirtied, and expected to work.
That was the inspiration. We wanted to build the kind of supply company we would actually want to buy from ourselves. Practical products, straightforward information, and gear chosen because it has a real use.
Why the name CROSSCUT
The name comes from the old crosscut saw, a simple American tool built for hard work. I have always liked what that represents. It is not complicated for the sake of being complicated. It has a job, and a good one does that job well.
That idea became a useful standard for the company: useful equipment, clear information, and no unnecessary noise.
Building it the right way
We are still early in what we want CROSSCUT to become. I would rather grow the catalog deliberately than fill it with products just to make the site look bigger. The goal is to build a dependable hunting, outdoor, and tactical supply company one product and one customer at a time.
We are independently owned and operated in South Carolina, and I want the company to keep the practical feel that inspired it in the first place.
